Crossroads

(Bob Nolan)

I've been waiting at the crossroads

Far beyond the seven seas

Longing and yearning for someone

Somewhere to anchor my heart.

Crossroads never meet again, dear.

That's the story that they always tell

But I found the lost road home

That meets the crossroads home

And you were waiting there.

One of Bob Nolan's post-Sons of the Pioneers compositions, "Crossroads" was registered for copyright on April 11, 1951, and the sheet music was published by BOB NOLAN MUSIC, INC., the same year.

Many of Bob Nolan's published songs appeared to be "lost" to his family, including "Crossroads", one of his post-Sons of the Pioneers compositions. In May, 2009, Barton Clark donated his copy of "Crossroads" to the Bob Nolan family and it will be archived in the Southern Folklife Collection at the University of North Carolina. We are very grateful to Mr. Clark for his generosity.

When we received the sheet music, we scanned and sent it to Dave Bourne who quickly made this demo for us. Mr. Bourne is an enthusiastic Nolan fan and has made many demos for us of Bob Nolan's unrecorded music. We are grateful to him for his talent and unqualified support.
