Featuring the Songs of Bob Nolan

Many of Bob Nolan's early songs were written for specific films and he often admitted that he was not proud of them. Most of these songs had been poems. When time was short and demand for new songs high, he would take one of these poems and quickly create music for it. Bob thought of himself as a lyricist but many of the melodies he wrote were beautiful and memorable. In this section we have expanded the information on each song. The Sons of the Pioneers and others recorded Bob's songs and we include a few selections for comparison and your listening pleasure. We include background to the creation of the song, when we know it, plus an example of the sheet music. Note: Bob's unrecorded demos are in yellow boxes.
